Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association

Incorporated in 1974, SMHA offers a variety of hockey programs for children and youth from five to 17 years of age.

  • SMHA consists of six geographic hockey zones which are used for player registration and team competition. The six zones are: Saskatoon AcesSaskatoon BobcatsSaskatoon FlyersSaskatoon RedwingsSaskatoon Renegades and Saskatoon Wild. SMHA also has two city-wide hockey programs - the Saskatoon Comets for Female hockey programs and Saskatoon AA Hockey for U13 AA, U15 AA, U16AA and U18 AA programs. Saskatoon U15A City-Wide was established in 2022-23.
  • SMHA is the governing body for all Hockey Canada (HC) and Hockey Saskatchewan (HS) sanctioned minor hockey teams in the City of Saskatoon and area, which includes the Saskatoon U13AA, U15 AA, U16AA and U18 AA teams that play in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League, the Female Saskatoon U13AA, U15AA, U15A, U18AA & U18A teams that play in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League, the Saskatoon Female Comets (U7 through U18 female programs), the Female U18 AAA Saskatoon Stars, the U18 AAA Saskatoon Blazers and the U18 AAA Saskatoon Contacts
  • SMHA operates through an 18-member volunteer Board of Directors and employs four staff members during the hockey season.
