The Al Anderson's Source for Sports SMHA Coach of the Year Award recognizes a minor hockey coach who meets the following criteria:

• Is a Head Coach on a SMHA team

• Is in good standing for all applicable coaching certifications

• has made it a special year for the players and families on his or her team on and/or off the ice

Nomination Process:

SMHA zones, including Comets and AA city wide programs, will gather nominations from their teams.
 
The deadline for teams to submit nominations to their home zones is March 7th


Please click here for the SMHA Awards Nomination Form.


Zones will then select their nominee for SMHA Coach of the Year and submit it to SMHA's Awards Committee by March 22nd.
 
The SMHA Awards Committee will review the nominations and select the Al Anderson's Source for Sports SMHA Coach of the Year.
 
This award will be presented at the Annual General Meeting of the SMHA in April each year.

 
SMHA thanks Al Anderson's Source for Sports for their long-time generous support of this award. The winner of this award receives a new pair of skates along with a custom coaching bag.
