It is important that game officials understand the game timing information for the leagues that they officiate in.

PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF AWARE OF THE INFORMATION ON THE GAME TIMING SHEET AND THE KEY POINTS BELOW:


Time Outs - Regular season:

- Not permitted in any SMHA leagues (U9, U11, U13A, U13B, U13C, FEMALE U13C, U15B, U15C, U18A, U18B, U18C)  with the exception of U15A City Wide;
- One 30-second time out per team per game is permitted in all SAAHL (U13AA, U15AA, U16AA, U18AA)and SFHL (U13AA, U15AA, U15A, U18AA, U18A) regular season games.

Time Outs - Playoffs:
- All leagues with playoffs from U13 - U18 (SMHA, SAAHL, SFHL) allow one 30-second time out per team per game in league and provincial playoffs.

Game time cut down to 2 minutes of stop time play -Regular season only:
- In SMHA and SFHL regular season games in U13-U18 it is required to cut down to 2 minutes of stop time play when the time of day arena clock shows 5 or less minutes remaining on the ice allocation,.
- Penalties do not get cut down when the game clock gets cut down

U11 Penalties are 2-minutes straight time in SMHA league play - not 3 minutes
Penalties in all SMHA U11 league play are 2-minutes straight-time from the drop of the puck.  

Be Ready!

 Officials need to be quick when coming out for the start of the period and when dropping the puck to try to get as much of the games competed as possible.
