INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES

In the case of stormy weather conditions that may prevent teams traveling on highways for league/playoff games, the following procedures are to be followed.  Safety of all concerned is the primary concern however teams should make every effort to play scheduled league games where possible.

SMHA will not force any team to travel if they feel the highway conditions are too unsafe for travel;

+  Contact the  Highway Hotline  (Click Here)
or 1-888-335-7623 to determine if weather or travel warnings are in effect;

+ If weather warnings are in effect, the traveling team officials are to make a decision if the game is to be postponed / cancelled;
+ If a game is to be postponed /cancelled, the traveling team officials are to contact the SMHA Office ASAP at 306-244-1363 to advise of the team's decision not to travel and game cancellation is required.  Referees will need to be cancelled.

+ The canceling team officials are to contact the other team's coach and manager to advise of the game cancellation.

+  If the cancelled game  is scheduled to be played outside of Saskatoon in Clavet, Delisle, Martensville or Warman, it is the responsibility of the Interlock MHA team to make cancellation arrangements with their referees/arena.

+   If the cancelled game is scheduled to be played outside of Saskatoon, the two team managers / coaches are to agree on a rescheduled game date and notify Tracey or Christa at the SMHA office so the new game time can be added to the TeamLinkt schedules for both teams.

+ If the cancelled game is scheduled to be played in Saskatoon, the SMHA team will work with Tracey Brown to make arrangements to reschedule the game.

+  If the game cannot be rescheduled in a reasonable time frame, SMHA will allocate points to both teams based on a 0-0 tie.
