SASKATOON U18 AAA Hockey

The SMHA is proud to be affiliated with three very solid franchises participating in the male and female U18 AAA leagues in Saskatchewan. 

The Saskatoon Stars compete in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League.  The Stars won the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary in 2011 and they were league runner-up in the finals to Notre Dame for three consecutive years (09-10 through 11-12). The Saskatoon Stars are a success story unto themselves.  the Stars won the SFMAAAHL Championship IN four of five seasons - 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.  The Stars won Bronze at the 2015 Esso Cup and Silver at the 2018 Esso Cup in Nova Scotia.  They were fourth nationally the other two years in 2016 and 2019.

The Saskatoon Blazers and Saskatoon Contacts both compete in the SU18AAAHL and are great representatives for SMHA. 

CONTACTS:
The Contacts were league runners up in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 and then broke through with the SMAAAAHL League Championship in 2011-2012  The Contacts won the 2012 Western Regional Championship and then won the bronze medal at the national Telus Cup Championship - great job!  The Contacts did all of this in 2011-12 with 11 first year midget players!

The Contacts continued their success in 2012-2013, winning the SMAAAHL title for a second consecutive season in a dramatic five-game series over Prince Albert.  The Contacts also won the Western Regional Championship again and then lost in the Bronze Medal game at the national Telus Cup in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. 

The Saskatoon Contacts were the host team for the 2016 Telus Cup West Regional Championship.  The Contacts won the regional in double OT to defeat the Winnipeg Wild.  The Contacts competed in the Telus Cup for the third time in five seasons in 2016 in New Brunswick.


BLAZERS:
The Blazers have been very strong in recent years finishing in the top 3 in the standings in 2018-19 and tied for first overall in 2019-20.  The Blazers have also carried that strong play into the Mac's Tournament by making it to the semi-final of the event in both of those seasons.
