Players Born 2011 & 2012
The U15 stage represents a critical period of growth, maturation, and increased game understanding. Players at this age are developing greater physical capacity, tactical awareness, and personal responsibility. Weyburn Soccer’s U15 program is science-informed and aligned with Canada Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development (Train to Train) stage, ensuring players are challenged appropriately while protecting long-term development and enjoyment of the game.
The U15 Community program is designed for players who want to continue playing and developing in a structured, positive environment while representing Weyburn in regional competition.
Format – Community
1 training session per week (90 minutes)
1 game day per week
Coed programming where appropriate
Teams will compete against other rural communities, and families should expect that travel will be required a few times during the season to support meaningful competition.
The U15 Competitive program is designed for players seeking higher training volume, increased commitment, and more demanding competition within a development-first framework.
Format – Competitive
2–3 training sessions per week
Participation in structured league play (including Forge Spring Soccer League where applicable)
Friendly matches and tournaments may be entered at the discretion of the coaching staff
Teams are encouraged to enter 11-a-side Provincials, where appropriate
At U15, one competitive team will be formed. Player evaluations are led by the Technical Director and coaching staff.
If a player is not selected, they will be offered a place in the U15 Community program, and families will receive a refund of the difference between competitive and community registration packages.
At the U15 Train to Train stage, Canada Soccer emphasizes:

Tactical awareness and game understanding
Physical development through growth and maturation
Confidence, resilience, accountability, and leadership
Coaches will:
Use game-based and positional training
