To ensure a safe, positive, and compliant environment for all participants, all coaches, assistant coaches, managers, division heads, WSA Executive, and committee members must complete the following requirements before the season begins.
The first three steps MUST be completed before the first night of soccer. Anyone who has not completed these steps will NOT be permitted on the field.
All individuals in positions of trust must have a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search that is valid within the past 2 years.
If this is your first season with Weyburn Soccer, you must provide a current CRC with Vulnerable Sector Search
If you are from Weyburn, complete your CRC through the Weyburn City Police
If you are outside Weyburn, please visit your nearest RCMP detachment

Coaches
Assistant coaches (age 16+)
Team managers

WSA Executive and committee members
Do not email your CRC to any Weyburn Soccer Executive
Your CRC must be uploaded during coach registration (Step 3)

Weyburn Soccer will fully reimburse this cost

All coaches and team officials must complete Respect in Sport – Activity Leader within the past 5 years.

New to Weyburn Soccer
Coaching for the first time
Looking to advance your coaching education
The Technical Director will send you a link and access key to the appropriate online coaching course.
Courses are completed online, on your own time
Time commitment ranges from 1–5 hours, depending on the course assigned
To be fully certified as a Weyburn Soccer coach, you must attend:
A WSA Coach Orientation
An on-field practical session (required for new coaches or those who have updated their coach education)
All coaches are strongly encouraged to attend orientation each year, as coaching standards and information continue to evolve.
The Technical Director will provide dates and times for these sessions.
Once registered, the Technical Director will provide:
A username and password to access:
WSA curriculum
Full-season lesson plans
Coach resources and support materials
Coaches are asked to review these materials prior to the first night of soccer or before coach orientation.
All coaches must meet Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) Minimum Coaching Standards and Safe Sport requirements.
