For 46 years, Gay+ softball teams have come together for the Pacific Cup in the Greater Vancouver area.  Many iPride Softball member cities have visited the lower mainland, as well as non-iPride teams.  After many years at Softball City (Surrey, BC), in 2023 the Pacific Cup moved to Strathcona Park in Vancouver.  Teams from Alberta and Washington State joined BC teams to compete in WESA's signature tournament.

DIVISIONS

Recreational – for players of all abilities and ages who: i) prioritize a slower-paced game, including beginning and developing softball players; or ii) established players who are better suited to a slower-paced game. Players in this division hit & field low velocity (i.e. less than 150 feet) and medium velocity (i.e. between 150 – 250 feet) hits. Recreational players will typically: i) have an iPride rating of E or D; and ii) play in WESA’s Tier 1 or 2 Divisions.

Competitive - for more experienced softball players who have a good grasp of the fundamentals of the game and who appreciate a more efficient, fluid, and faster paced game. Players in this division hit & field up to high velocity (i.e. greater than 250 feet) hits. Competitive players will typically: i) have an iPride rating of C or D; and ii) play in WESA’s Tier 2 or 3 Divisions.

Teams are encouraged to register in the division that best suits the skill level of the majority of the its team’s players. If the Tournament Director believes a team is better suited to the other skill division, the Tournament Director reserves the right to move team(s) to the that division, either: i) before the start of the tournament; or ii) during the tournament, but prior to playoffs.

PRICING 

CAD$360/team - 2 round robin & 2 double knock out playoff games minimum guaranteed. Payment due by Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Strathcona Park, 857 Malkin Avenue, Vancouver
These three diamonds serve as the league's regular fields during the season.
A neighbourhood park featuring a playground, basketball, soccer, and a track, our beloved Strathcona Park is popular with dog walkers and family picnics.
There is plenty of street parking surrounding the park and a parking lot on the east border.
