The puck stops HERE!
Following the success of last years Wild goalie school, we are happy to continue to offer training opportunities for our young tenders in a Sunday Wild goalie school. This fundamental skills-based goalie training school is intended for our U7-U11 goaltenders interested in honing their skills for the up-coming season.
Similar to last year, the camp will be run by the talented crew from Focus Goaltending and will cover a variety of skills and techniques crucial to a young netminders success. Drills are designed to improve skating, flexibility, strength, positioning, rebound control, reaction time, puck handling skills, and most importantly, confidence!
Again this year, we have the majority of our ice times later in the afternoon in a attempt to avoid ice time conflicts!
New for this season are some exciting incentives designed to encourage our goalie group to maximize effort each session and develop the skills to reach their potential. Be there to find out more!
There are 16 spots available for registration this year offered through the Teamlinkt website (Saskatoon Wild Zone : Powered by TeamLinkt) on a first come first served basis.
I’m happy to announce we have increased the subsidy for goalie training this season from $250 to $300 for each goaltender. The cost to register is $250 per goalie for the full 12 x 1-hour session program. Payment will be required to confirm your spot.
Registration will open at 6pm on Sunday Sept 8th! - Mark your calendar so you don’t miss your chance to get signed up for this amazing opportunity.
Community/Family Involvement
Again, this year we will be asking our goalie school families to play a big part in the development and growth of our young puck stoppers. We will be looking for 8 - 10 volunteers per session to don their hocky gear and hit the ice to provide mentorship, encouragement, and under the supervision of our Focus crew, fire a few shots at our kids in instructor designed drills. This can be a great opportunity to get those older siblings involved in fun and give them that extra ice time they’ve been asking for.
Cancellation/Refunds
As we strive to offer our goalie families the lowest rates possible, we will not be offering any refunds for missed sessions once payment has been made. We will provide a list of goalies from across the zones that are interested in filling any spots that you may not be able to attend. Contact info for the interested families will be provided and it will be the responsibility of the registered goalie family to find a sub and conduct any payment exchanges.
Equipment
Goalies will be required to bring their own equipment however, the Wild zone will provide a set of gear including a stick, catcher, blocker, chest protector, and pads for each team from U9-U11. Please ask your coach or team rep for more details or contact our zone equipment coordinator for more info.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
