Refund Policy
If you withdraw:
Prior to the registration deadline, a $10 administrative fee will be withheld by the zone.
After the registration deadline but before tryouts, a $25 administrative fee will be withheld by the zone.
After tryouts, no refund will be provided unless there are exceptional circumstances. In such a case, submit a request to the zone executive, which will consider requests on a case by case basis. If a refund is approved for a withdrawal after tryouts, a minimum of $40 will be withheld by the zone.
Expectations
Division A
This division has the highest level of competition and comitment.
Players on this team are expected to practice more often. Expect to be at the diamond 3 to 4 times per week.
Players are encouraged to attend clinics and strive to excel in the position they are playing.
Typically the team participates in at least 2 to 4 tournaments. In addition, teams are REQUIRED to attend Cities and Provincials (early July) and go to Nationals (early August) if successful.
Division B
This division is the development stage for players striving to move up and learn skills of the game while still having a fun experience.
Leauge games still have a strong sense of competition.
Typically this team participates in 1 to 2 tournaments and Cities.
It is up to the induvidual team if they choose to attend provincials (early July)
When do games begin?
All league games are to start at 6:30 p.m. for junior (U11, U13, U15, U17) leagues. The league begins yearly, the first week of May. – Coaches will require players to arrive for pre-game warm up anywhere from ½ hour to 1 hour before start time. This will be decided the start of the season by your coach.
Who sets up/tears down the ball diamond?
As home team, parents are expected to set up the diamond. It is recommended to set out a schedule at the beginning of the season to cover off these duties. (Please do not include your coaching staff in this; they are already volunteering 3-4 hours that day without adding further diamond duties.)
When do games end?
U11, U13, U15 & U17 – Early to mid-May has an 8:45 p.m. curfew. TBD to end of season has a 9 p.m. curfew. There is no new inning started after the curfew time. Games are 7 innings or 7 runs up after 5 innings concludes the game.
Who is the scorekeeper?
U11, U13, U15 & U17 – as home team, you keep score. Similar to diamond duties, it is recommended to set out a schedule at the beginning of the season. It should not be the responsibility of the same individual each game. It’s easy to learn!
What is the “Jewelry Rule”?
There is a NO TOLERENCE TO WEARING JEWELRY rule.
All exposed jewelry must be removed. Exception: medic alert bracelet or chain.
Should anyone covering their ears with tape; the following procedure will be used. The umpire will ask if they are covering jewelry. If they answer yes, then the player must remove it before they can be allowed to play. If they say no then the umpire will let things stand. However, if the tape comes off during the game and jewelry is discovered, the following will be enforced. The player will be removed from the game and the coach who signed the lineup sheet will be ejected. This also may result in additional suspension for the coach.
How long is the season?
All junior League play runs from the beginning of May to end of June. Some Jr. League teams going to provincials will run into first or second weekend of July. Those heading to Westerns or Canadians will play into the second weekend of August.
We have registered but have not heard what team my child is on?
U11, U13, U15, U17 – Div A teams will have been notified approx. 2 weeks after evaluations by the head coach. Div B & C team will be notified as soon as coaching is in place and no later than the end of March of the given year.
