The zone will provide the players jerseys for the season.
Jerseys will be given to the head coach to hand out. The jersey deposit (to cover any possible loss or damage to the jersey) must be paid online at the time of registration.
Any player that fails to return their uniform or returns it in a damaged condition will forfeit this deposit.
Please wash your uniform in cold water only. DO NOT PLACE IT IN THE DRYER, you should hang your uniform to dry (this will help to avoid damaging the numbers).
You will need to have:
Ball glove
Red Helmet with face mask for batting
Red undershirt
Red Belt
Red Ball Socks
Navy Ball Pants (Mizuno or Rawlings)
Fielding masks are mandatory for all U11 to U17 players. Fielding masks MUST be worn at all the infield postions during clinics, practices, before game warmups and during gameplay. It is at the coaches discretion if they are to be worn for the outfield postions and up to the coach to enforce.
You are strongly encouraged to go down to Al Anderson’s to try on the ball pants and undershirt to ensure proper sizing. Go into the store just past the ball gloves and turn left to get to the “team apparel” section.
Al Anderson’s Source for Sports will send an email when your order is ready for pick up.
If you are concerned that the glove may be too small as the player’s hand has grown, please ask your coach or take it to Al Anderson’s and ask their staff.
Other lasers branded clothing is available through Al Anderson’s; however, the Lasers zone is also sourcing logoed apparel through another vendor. It is recommended that if you are wanting to purchase Lasers apparel that you wait until you know if the team your child is on will be ordering any apparel as a team. Parents, siblings, and other family members will also have an opportunity to order apparel at that time, or it can be ordered through the Lasers Zone chosen vendor.
It is OPTIONAL to have:
ball cleats (highly recommended at U13 and above)
batting gloves
equipment bag
It is recommended that each player bring the following equipment to games and practices depending on the weather: jacket, mittens, water bottle, sun screen, insect repellent, sun glasses.
Hat: The zone will not be offering hats for the 2021 season. This is due to the requirements of facemasks. T-shirts will be given out in place of hats.
Bat: You don’t need to purchase a bat, those are supplied for all teams. U15 and U17 players may wish to purchase a bat for when they go to batting cages on their own time, however we don’t recommend purchasing bats for U11 & U13 players – they are still learning what size and weight they prefer, and this changes as they grow. For U11 & U13 players it’s preferred that they borrow a bat from the coach as needed. If you are considering buying a bat for your child, please visit the Softball Canada website to ensure the bat meets the minimum requirements.
