Who is it for: Boys and Girls from Grade 1 to Grade 12 who have little basketball experience and want to learn how to play the game
When: April and May each year. Two 1 hour sessions per week
Where: We run our program out of school gyms in the city and do our best to place everyone in a facility close to their home community

HoopStart: Spring into Basketball with Saskatoon Minor
Welcome to "HoopStart", your springboard into the world of basketball! This program, brought to you by Saskatoon Minor Basketball Association (SMBA), is tailored for young athletes eager to either step onto the court for the first time or enhance their existing basketball skills.
Program Structure:
Our program is meticulously designed for beginners and intermediate players, featuring two one-hour sessions each week. The first half of each session focuses on skill development, guided by our carefully crafted curriculum and experienced coaches. The latter half is dedicated to game-like scenarios, where players are matched with peers of similar athleticism and ability. This format varies, including one-on-one, two-on-two, or team games (3-on-3 or 5-on-5), depending on the participants' progression and readiness.
