Who Makes Up Team Operations?
To assist teams with the 'day-to-day' operations, this page was constructed to help ensure that everyone involved in Team Operations has access to information related to their position. Team Operations ('TeamOps') is made up of the following positions;
TEAM OPS MEETINGS
These pre season meeetings are mandatory for Head Coaches, Team Managers and Team Treasurers.

HEAD COACH
Southwest Hockey is built on great coaches! There are a number of resources provided to Head Coaches to help build a strong team.
On the "Coach Start Here" button; you'll find a number of resources such as; your Roles/Responsibilities, Equipment/Jerseys, Team Rules, Affiliation Policy and Dressing Room Policy.

ASSISTANT COACHES
Head Coaches need great Assistant Coaches to help support the team. While there are a number of resources geared towards Head Coaches, we hope things will be collaborative.
There is a maximum of up to four (4) Assistant Coaches per team. One of these Assistant Coaches must take on the role of Attendance Tracker utilizing the 'tool' that is provided by Southwest.

The role of the Team Manager is an integral part of ensuring a well-run, positive team environment.
Community League Team Managers provide essential coordination, communication and administrative support that keeps team operations running smoothly through the entire season.

The role of the Team Manager is an integral part of ensuring a well-run, positive team environment.
While the House League Managers have fewer administrative tasks, they remain essential in supporting team communications and helping keep the season organized.

ASSISTANT MANAGERS - COMMUNITY
The Assistant Team Manager supports the Team Manager by helping with off-ice coordination, monitoring key deadlines, and ensuring game-day roles are covered.
They also play an important part in leading the team's Cougars Give Back initiative, helping create meaningful community experiences that strengthen team culture throughout the season.

Assistant Managers - House League
The Assistant Team Manager supports the Team Manager by helping with off-ice coordination, monitoring key deadlines, and ensuring game-day roles are covered.
While the House League has fewer administrative requirements, this position still assists with monitoring key deadlines, ensuring time clock and scorekeeping coverage for all games, and helping fill any vacant team roles to keep the season running smoothly.

TEAM TREASURER
The Team Treasurer manages all team finances in alignment with Southwest Hockey policies, ensuring budgeting, banking, fundraising, and financial reporting are handled accurately and on-time. They work closely with the Team Manager to maintain cleaer records, communicate updates to families, and support the team's operational and AGLC-related responsibilities throughout the season.
House League Note: House League teams do not require a team bank account, budget, cash calls, or fundraising, and must follow the financial guidelines outlined in the House League Program.

TEAM RAFFLE LIAISON
The Team Raffle Liaison acts as the connection between their team and the Southwest Hockey Fundraising Committee during major Association-run fundraising projects, such as our Cash Raffle.
They help coordinate team-level tasks, organize volunteers for PVSO's, and ensure all raffle requirements, tracking, and submissions are completed accurately and on time.

JERSEY PARENTS
Jersey Parents ensure game jerseys are brought to EVERY game, properly distributed, collected, and consistently cared for throughout the season.
Community teams require two (2) Jersey Parents (U9 to U18) to manage both home and away sets, while U7 and House League teams need only one (1) volunteer to support their single jersey set.

TOURNAMENT COORDINATOR
Community League - The Tournament Coordinator helps the team identify suitable tournaments, organizes key logistics, accommodations, and scheduling, and supports the Team Manager and Treasurer with registration requirements. They ensure all tournament-related details are handled smoothly and in alignment with Hockey Calgary and Southwest Hockey guidelines.
House League - Teams are not permitted to participate in tournaments; therefore, this position does not apply to House League.
