ASSISTANT COACHES / 2026 - 2027

Assistant Coaches support the Head Coach in creating a safe, positive, and well-run team environment. With up to four (4) Assistant Coaches per team, this role includes helping with practices and games, supporting player development, modeling respectful conduct, maintaining required certifications, and assisting with communications and team operations.

One (1) Assistant Coach is to be designated  as the primary attendance tracker for the season, ensuring records follow Southwest Hockey's policy.

The Attendance Tracker helps keep team records clear, consistent and aligned with Southwest Hockey's Attendance Policy. This role centers on accurate monthly reporting, timely follow up on absences, and clear communication of expectations to families, working closely with the Head Coach to ensure attendance is reliable all season.

Southwest Hockey's Attendance Policy outlines how excused and unexcused absences are defined, how families must communicate absences, and how attendance affects player development and playing time. Participants are expected to maintain regular attendance. Absences that exceed 40% may require a meeting(s) with the Head Coach. Regular attendance helps coaches plan effectively.

The designated Assistant Coach must email the Administrator to request access to the official attendance spreadsheet.

Once access is granted, the Attendance Tracker will only use this sheet for all monthly tracking and reporting.
