u15 checking clinic (2013)

Every 1 st Year (2013) U15 Southwest Hockey player regardless if they have registered for BodyChecking or Non-Body Checking must complete a checking clinic prior to evaluations. Southwest Hockey provides this clinic FREE for registered participants.

We are proud to partner with Village Sports for this clinic.

The clinic will focus on safety, awareness, and building on contact confidence; including proper angling and other contact elements

 This clinic is held in 2 sessions. The participant must attend both sessions to be considered complete and eligible for evaluating in a checking division. Further details are provided below in the 'Checking Clinic Information'.

  • Part A will be held: 2026 TBD
  • Part B will be held:  2026 TBD

The Administrator will contact families the 3rd week of August with regards to signup instructions.

Checking clinic information

If your child is trying out for:
  • Calgary Royals: A checking clinic is integrated in the tryout and this will be recognized by Southwest.
  • Calgary Buffaloes: Does not provide a checking clinic as part of tryouts. Therefore, it's the responsibility of the family to provide proof a checking clinic was completed in 2026.
  • Calgary Fire: Does not provide a checking clinic as part of tryouts. Therefore, it's the responsibility of the family to provide proof a checking clinic was completed in 2026.
