volunteer requirements

Menifee Pony is LEGALLY REQUIRED to have all of it's volunteers meet certain requirements.
Once approved, the certifications and LiveScan won't need to be done again as long as you're not out of the league for more than two years, or you've been removed by the Board of Directors.  The volunteer form will need to be completed each season still, along with the uploaded drivers license.

IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER AND LIVESCAN BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION:
In cases of arrest history records coming back from the LiveScan DOJ background check, MPB has certain convictions that will result in automatic denial of MPB Badge and Volunteer status, and others will be reviewed for approval or denial.  In all cases MPB reserves the right to make final decisions on Volunteer status.  MPB also reserves the right to remove Approved Volunteer status from any MPB Volunteer.  This may be due to the background check information or a problem/ history of problems between the volunteer and our league.

A Breakdown of the MPB VOLUNTEER/BADGE PROCESS

THERE ARE FOUR DIFFERENT LEVELS OF BADGES (will be printed in different color for each)

1-Board Member
  2-Manager
  3-Assistant Coach
  4-Team Parent

COACH REQUIREMENTS (Managers/Head Coaches & Assistant Coaches)
  1. Complete the Volunteer Registration.
  2. Complete the following courses;

  3. Complete Live Scan and pass based on DOJ report to league

  4. Upload Driver's License, proof of the 3 course completions, and completed Livescan into Document Upload Form.
  5. Pass the National Sex Offender Registry check (what DL is used for, and it's free)
  6. Be on 'Teams Volunteers List' that team Manager submits
  7. MUST have badge and it MUST be visibly worn to coach

TEAM PARENT (aka 'Team Mom') REQUIREMENTS
  1. After speaking to the head coach of your team, complete the Volunteer Registration.
  2. Upload Driver's License into the Document Upload Form.
  3. Pass the National Sex Offender Registry check (what DL is used for, and it's free)
  4. Be on 'Teams Volunteers List' that team Manager submits
  5. MUST have badge and it MUST be visibly worn to be in dugout
  6. CANNOT BE ON FIELD. Coach Badge required to be on the field

One TEAM PARENT can sit in the dugout during games in Pinto (7u-MP and 8u-KP) and two in Filly and Shetland Divisions.  For older divisions (Mustang & higher), they can assist as needed by Manager, but they cannot stay in the dugout unless they are a coach with a coach badge. To do so without the Live Scan Coach badge would put them over the LEGAL requirement, so we do not allow it.
TEAM PARENTS cannot help coach. To help coach, they must get Live Scanned (and the certs) to get that badge.

BADGES REQUIRED to be in dugout and the  field during ALL GAMES.
Badges not required for practices, BUT the manager is responsible to know that ONLY MPB APPROVED VOLUNTEERS are helping in those practices.
