It has been 15 years since the 1st season of New Orleans Shuffleboard League. The 23rd season of NOSL starts tonight with 15 teams, the most ever.
For the 1st time NOSL will split into two conferences, the Neutral Ground Conference and the Sidewalk Side Conference. Both conferences will have separate playoffs, championship, trophies and All-star tournaments.
The Neutral Ground Conference (NGC) will expand the number of games played in a match. Traditional NOSL is 5 games: four doubles and one 4on4. 4on4 has both teams fielding 4 players each. All 8 players play both sides if the table with all 8 on one side with each player throwing one puck and then all 8 moving to other side of the board after scoring. The two additional games in NGC will be two single games which makes 7 total.
The Sidewalk Side Conference will play the NOSL traditional 5 game matches.
The Neutral Ground Conference will have 5 teams: Mighty Pucks, G Spots, Frog Kids, Kings Of Lyons and the Puck Cucks.
The Mighty Pucks, 4 time, back to back champions who won titles at Fat Harry's and Prytania Bar, will now be playing at The Blind Devil, 307 Chartres st. This is the 1st time NOSL has played in the French Quarter.
The G Spots and the Puck Cucks are playing again at Gennaro's Bar in Metairie, the oldest bar in Metairie and has been apart of NOSL since 2016. The Puck Cucks are playing their 2nd season .
The Frog Kids, 3 time champions, winning at Bruno's Tavern and Cooter Browns where they play again this season.
Kings of Lyons, also 3 time champions, will be back at Kingpin where they share the board with PBR. Kings of Lyons & Kingpin have been part of the league since it's founding in 2011.
The Sidewalk Side Conference (SSC) will have 10 teams: PBR, Gutterpucks, Slow Rollers, Sexy Mother Puckers, and No Pucks Given all return from last season. New teams are Louisa St. Shuffleboard & Drinking Club, Puck-A-Duck, Prytanders To The Crown, The Knockoffs and The Puck Stops Here.
PBR, Please Bang Responsibly, is back at Kingpin where they share a board with the Kings of Lyons.
Gutterpucks return to Fat Harry's where they have been since forming in Spring 2025.
The Slow Rollers play once again at Causeway Bar & Grill in Metairie.
The newest Markey's team is the Louisa St Shuffleboard & Drinking Club (LSDC) formed this season.
No Pucks Given will play at Pirogue's Whiskey Bayou for a second season.
Two new teams will be at Prytania Bar, The Prytanders To The Crown and The Puck Stops Here. Glad to gave 2 more teams at Prytania Bar.
Puck-A-Duck is the newest team at Pirogue's Whiskey Bayou where they share the tabke with No Pucks Given, a legacy team from Lost Love Lounge, an unfortunate casualty of Covid.
The Knockoffs will play at the Double Club, also at 307 Chartres St. The Double Club is on the ground floor and has a new 12 foot table. The Blind Devil is on the 2nd floor of The Double Club.
As the founder and commissioner of New Orleans Shuffleboard League I am overjoyed at the expansion of the league with new teams, new bars and new boards. The splitting of the league into two conferences will give teams that haven't won, a chance at a Championship and All-star win. Going to be a great season.
