Alberta Cal Ripken Casino Fundraiser
Every 18 months Alberta Babe Ruth Association (Alberta Cal Ripken) works a Casino through AGLC. Financially, it is integral to the sustainability of the program and mitigating fees for families. Working a Casino shift includes free food for shift workers.
If you sign up for shifts on both days, you must choose the same position each day.

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission has allocated the Alberta Babe Ruth Association a Casino on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and Monday, September 7, 2026.
The Casino will be held at Cowboys Casino, 421, 12th Ave SE, Calgary AB.
There is free underground parking for all to use.
Casino operating hours and volunteer presence
There have been policy changes implemented by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) since April 1, 204. These policy changes affect the number of hours the Casino may be open for table games - the charitable portion of the casino - which in turn affects how many hours we must provide volunteer staff for.
The existing hours of operation are 12 noon to 3AM, which means that our volunteers are scheduled to be available at the casino from 11AM to 4AM.
The volunteer hours now involve their presence 1 hour prior to opening and at least one hour after closing.
We have to fill various positions during the day shift and the night shift; these positions are General Managers, Bankers, Cashiers, Chip Runners, as well as Supervisors and Counters in the Count Room. We will also require spares for each shift.

All volunteers in key positions only must complete a Casino Volunteer Worker Application form. The key positions are the General Managers, Bankers, Count Room Supervisors, and Cashiers.
