Fee Assistance
Fee Assistance is a program of financial support for residents with low income living in our community that helps individuals participate in recreational and affiliated minor sport and arts programs.
How the assistance is given, qualifications and the amount of subsidy varies between programs.
KidSport Kitchener Waterloo
KidSport Kitchener Waterloo provides grants to help cover the cost of registration and equipment fees so that all kids aged 18 and under in Kitchener Waterloo can participate in eligible dance or sport programs of their choice.
The K-W chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $400 per child/year for families who live in Kitchener Waterloo. If you live outside of Kitchener Waterloo please contact the Provincial Office to find your nearest chapter or to get support through the Provincial Fund.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
Canadian Tire Jumpstart provides financial assistance for children aged 4-18 up to $300 per registration.
Financial Requirements : To be eligible for funding for one or more children, families must first meet specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart. Jumpstart uses the furthest column to the right of the chart for eligibility. See LICO eligibility chart here
Timeline: Applications for Jumpstart need to be done before the fees are due, as the money goes directly to our football association. Application for 2024 open on January 15.
