PRESIDENT'S AWARD

This award is intended to go to a player who best exemplifies the traits of being a fantastic human being.  This player demonstrates an attitude where winning isn’t the only goal, but the joy of competing to the best of their abilities and afterwards having the grace to acknowledge friend or foe, no matter the outcome of the game is paramount.  This player is self-motivated, dedicated and depended upon to always be at every practice and game with a positive attitude both on and off the ice.  This award recognizes a person who has a true heart for the game of hockey and humanity and doesn’t necessarily go to the player with the most talent or skill. The recipient represents themselves, their peers, their family, and the Association in a positive fashion, both on and off the ice.  Ultimately, this award goes to the player who truly epitomizes resilience, compassion, respect, and humility.

The recipient of this award is selected by the Executive, in consultation with head coaches of SHC.

Your nomination for this award should be one who is dedicated, enthusiastic and provides a positive role model for the youth in our organization.

MANAGER OF THE YEAR
​​​​​​​This award is presented to a Sturgeon Hockey Club manager (Fillies/Mustangs/Sting) who has demonstrated a strong and positive commitment to an individual team.  This manager has provided countless hours of volunteer work and displayed exceptional organizational, planning skills and effective communication while dealing with every challenge faced throughout the season.  This person has had a positive impact on their respective team and league while always representing a positive public image for the Sturgeon Hockey Club.

MOST SPIRITED U7 PLAYER AWARD

The Most Spirited U7 Player Award recognizes a young athlete who brings enthusiasm, positivity, and heart to the game each time they step on the ice. This player demonstrates a love for hockey while uplifting teammates and representing the true spirit of Mustang hockey.

The values and attributes most reflected or exemplified by that player should include:
