The RCBA works to ensure teams are as balanced and competitive as possible across all divisions and pools.
Please Note
The RCBA does not accept zone or school-based team requests.
This is a city-wide league, and players may be assigned to facilities outside their immediate area.
Because skill levels can vary significantly in Grades 7 & 8, the division is separated into competitive pools.
Pools are determined using evaluation results to create fair and balanced competition throughout the season.

Additional players may be invited to participate in a Bubble Evaluation, which helps determine the final roster spots for the highest pool.
If Pool 1 consists of 8 teams (80 players):
The number of pools and teams may vary each season based on registration numbers and overall skill distribution.
Scores are tracked during games and standings are maintained throughout the season.
To promote sportsmanship:

Playoff brackets and matchups are based on final regular season standings.

The RCBA also offers Grade 7 & 8 development clinics for athletes who are newer to basketball or looking to strengthen their foundational skills.
These sessions focus on:
Basketballs are available for purchase through the RCBA during registration or at the RCBA office.
Volunteer coaches play a huge role in the success of the RCBA program.
