Player Safety & Injury Protocols
At NSFC the safety and well-being of our players is our top priority. Soccer is a physical sport, and while we strive to provide a safe and positive environment, injuries can occur. We are committed to following best practices aligned with US Youth Soccer to ensure all players are properly cared for.
INJUry reporting and participation guidelines
- Any injury sustained during training or games should be reported immediately to the coach or team official.
- Players who are injured will be removed from participation if there is any concern for their safety.
- If an injury prevents a player from participating in soccer activities, the player must provide a signed medical clearance from a licensed physician before returning to play.
- Coaches and staff will not allow a player to return until proper documentation has been received.
concussion awareness protocol
A concussion is a type of brain injury that requires immediate attention and proper care.
If a Concussion is Suspected:
- The player will be immediately removed from play.
- The player will not return to play the same day, under any circumstances.
- The player will be monitored and parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible.
Medical Clearance Requirement:
- Players diagnosed with, or suspected of having, a concussion must be evaluated by a licensed medical professional.
Written clearance from a physician (MD or DO) is required before the player can return to any soccer-related activity.
