2024 REP BALL HOCKEY INFO:

REP League Cost:
The cost to play is based on 6-8 REP Games including Playoffs and 3 practices.  More practices can be added at a minimal cost if a team requests additional time.  Also included is the OBHF Provincial tournament fee of $925 per team.

Each player will receive;
- Full sublimated Aces uniform
- Aces ball hockey player equipment bag
- Aces game day shirt
- Aces Hat

- Rep Payoff game(s)
- 3 practices
- OBHF Provincial Tournament

All this for the low cost of $375 per player.

Our REP Aces League games are played weekdays against local cities such as Oakville, Milton, Etobicoke and other cities.  We will also offer practices, usually weekdays but we will work each coach individually to see what best fits each team.  The season will run from May and June.  The intent is that these REP Aces teams will represent our league at the OBHF Provincial Championships held in July.

We need teams for the following age groups:

REP U10 (ages 9-10)
REP U12 (ages 11-12)
REP U14 (ages 13-14)
REP U16 (ages 15-16)
REP U18 (ages 17-18)

Our objective and goal

Our objective is to give the players and coaches the best opportunity for success at the OBHF Provincial Championships.  Success and winning at the Provincial tournaments can lead to once in a lifetime experiences.  Past successful Aces teams have won the opportunity to participate at the Canadian Ball Hockey Association Canadian National Ball Hockey Championships.  Our Aces players who excelled at the National Championship tournament have been selected to play for Team Canada.  Playing for Team Canada gave them an experience they will never forget.  They got to play for an ISBHF World Ball Hockey Championship in countries such as the Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Slovakia just to name a few.  We want to get Aces players back onto the Ball Hockey World stage.

Ontario Ball Hockey Federation Provincial Championships Dates

July 19-21, 2024 – U8, U10 and U12 in Mississauga, ON

Questions and Answers

Please see below.  There is a shorter summary version followed by more detailed information.

Summary Q&A Version

Burlington Home games will be weeknights, schedule TBA.  Other cities will choose their own Home Game night, we have no control over those but we will provide input as needed.  Tryouts will start in mid April with the Rep Season start in May.  The season will end the End of June/early July.  There will be approximately 6-8 games including Playoffs.

Do I have to play House League to play Rep?

No, you do not have to play in the House League program to play on the REP team.  You can choose either program or both.

When are games played?

HOME games will be scheduled on weeknights.  Each center hosting games could have a different home night so AWAY games could be on any night.  The season will start the in May and will end in late June/early July just prior to the OBHF Provincial Championship Tournaments.

Is there travel?

Yes, as with any Rep program there is travel when you are on the visiting team.  Ball Hockey schedules are very short so the number of times you travel is very limited (you will only have 3-5 away games).  The distance will vary based on your opponent.  You will have Home games in various Burlington Arenas.

How many games will be played?

We are still firming up with the other cities how many games will be played but it will be no less than 6-8 games including playoffs.

How many games per week are played?

The REP League will be 1 game per week with the possibilty of an occasional/rare 2 games in a week.

Are there Rep practices?

Our intent is to work with Coaches to have approximately 3 practices to help develop skills and strategies to help our Aces team excel.

How much is the cost to play?

The REP League cost is more than our House League program and but will include OBHF Provincial Tournament fee, full sublimated uniform and Aces bag, hat and shirt.

Is there a cost for the Rep program tryouts?

Yes, there is a cost usually around $10 per tryout.  The tryouts will be in April.

How many and when are Tryout sessions?

Tryouts will start in April.  We have an extremely tight timeline so there will only be a couple of sessions.

How many players are on a team?

Each team will have a set of 16 uniforms.  There is no roster cap until the OBHF tournament rosters needs to be submitted by each center with a maximum of 20 players.  The intent is to use this Rep Program along with the House League program to evaluate and recruit Aces Provincial team players.

How do I register?

Registration info TBA.  You can email us at info@BurlingtonBallHockey.com for more information.

What Rep age groups will be offered?

Based on reasonable expectations, we can’t floor a team in every age group.  Realistically based on the size of the Provincial tournaments and feedback from other centers, we will have the most success in the U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 (tentative) age groups.

Are the Rep Teams also the Aces Provincial Teams?

Our intent is to have the Rep program teams represent our league at the "A" Level of the OBHF Provincial Championships.  We will still try to floor "B" Level Provincial teams selected from our House League teams.

Do you need Rep Coaches and how do I become a Coach?

Yes, we are actively needing seeking Coaches.  Priority will be given to those who have the appropriate qualifications.  Please fill out the HMBHL coaches Application Form and complete the Respect In Sport Certification.

We know there are many more questions to be answered.  We will add more content as it becomes available, please check back occasionally for updates.
