About Us

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Toyota SportsPlex are excited to introduce the sport of Dek Hockey to NEPA. 

Dek Hockey is an affordable way to be introduced into the sport of hockey, as there is minimal equipment required and no skating ability necessary, it is strictly played in sneakers.  

The building of the Dek Rink, which was completed in October of 2022, was a community project funded by the City of Wilkes-Barre, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. 

 The ultimate goal is to grow the sport of hockey, become more engaged in the community, and encourage physical exercise and teamwork.
