SPVC 2024-25 CLUB VOLLEYBALL SEASON

SPVC executive and coaches are eager to return to club activites for the upcoming season. We plan to offer up to a record 27 teams this season and provide the best quality program possible. We start our season with our Jr. Blizzard program in late October that runs 4 weeks. SPVC will take part in the new FALL TRYOUT period outlined by Volleyball Alberta. SPVC, VELOCITY, and VERTICAL LIMIT volleyball clubs have agreed to schedule tryouts that do not overlap with each other so that athletes can attend any tryout they choose. We have also extended the signing period to FRIDAY 10pm of the age class tryout week. This will give each athlete time to attend tryouts of different clubs without worry of an offer expiring before they consider all their options. We hope to reduce the stress of club tryouts for the athletes.

Competitions:

All SPVC teams will be competing locally, provincially, and Nationally again this year. Volleyball Alberta has presented many competition options this year. We will compete in the province wide stream at all levels.

Practice Sessions:

Each team from 13U to 18U will practice 3 times per week, Jr. Blizzard Elite will train 2 times per week.  There is a shortage of gym space, plus our club is growing so teams may have to travel outside of the City for training.  16U to 18U will also return to team training at the Northwestern Polytechnic High Performance Centre with Jamie Strauss (or optional location), while 13U to 15U will follow a team based program in the practice gym.
