Off-Ice Officials:  Timekeepers

The Off-Ice Official — commonly referred to as the Timekeeper — plays a vital role in every hockey game. Responsible for accurate timekeeping, penalty tracking, and game sheet documentation, timekeepers ensure the game runs smoothly from the sidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the time clock
  • Record goals, assists, and penalties on the official game sheet
  • Track penalty times for each penalized player

All Hockey Winnipeg timekeepers must register annually, including those exempt from attending a clinic or writing the exam.
