Winnipeg Storm Program (a hockey)                                                                                                           

The South Winnipeg Hockey Association (SWHA) and the Fort Garry North Hockey Association (FGNHA) jointly operate a female hockey program under the banner of Winnipeg Storm.

Winnipeg Storm provides a supportive environment where girls can thrive among peers with a shared passion — to have fun, develop skills, learn the game, and compete.


Program Overview

The female program is governed by Hockey Winnipeg and competes city-wide, playing against other area associations throughout the season.

Teams are structured by:

Note:  The AA level is managed through the Hockey Winnipeg, offering a higher level of competition for players seeking additional challenges and development opportunities.


Player Development

All Winnipeg Storm players benefit from ongoing skill development led by Vigier Hockey.

  • Frequency: Every two weeks
  • Location: St. Norbert Arena
  • Day: Tuesday evenings

These sessions focus on:

  • Skating technique
  • Puck handling
  • Position-specific skills
  • Game strategy
