18U Green Quebec Trip

News Image
SPVC is so proud of the 18U Green team, representing the club in such a positive way throughout the season and during their final tournament of the season in Quebec City. Coaches, parents, and athletes all came together to make this happen. The team worked hard to raise money, thanks to all those who sponsored or supported their efforts. Included below is the head coach's comments and description of the trip:

A few pictures of the U18 Green team attending the Tournois Volleyball - Rouge et Or at Laval University in Quebec City, Quebec.

First few pics are touring old Quebec, Andre was our tour guide. Beautiful architecture and history was seen and learned that day.

Andre was reminiscing about his time growing up there. The building with the red door, is where Andre started his volleyball coaching career. A couple of the aquarium and placing 2nd and receiving a silver medal. We played against the Laval Athletiques (the university club team, coached by the university head coach) in the final. Lost in the 3rd set. Some amazing rally's that lasted for quite some time, that proved the importance of conditioning.

A couple of teams they played against consisted of college club players that are attending triple A colleges, including Garneau and Limoleau. The girls played their hearts out and finished off the season and some finished off their club career with experiencing a different culture, language and making memories that they will cherish forever.

SPVC Green team put on a show for the teams in the East and came out with quite a few of the teams supporting them and cheering them on. Tournament organizers asking if we are coming back and many compliments received from other coaches about our team.

The girls would like to thank Andre Turgeon for being their tour guide, translator where needed, as a few girls on the team also speak French and being on the bench for support during the games.

The girls worked hard to fundraise for this trip and all their hard work paid off.
