U11 2026 Evaluation Information

The 2026 U11 evaluations will kick off with our goalie skills (Female & Coed) on August 28, 2026, then proceed with the female only evaluations on August 30, 2026 to September 4, 2026.  Lastly the coed evaluations will begin on September 5, 2026, and will end on September 12, 2026.

SGMHA will be using Sports Evaluations to complete the upcoming evaluations.  Each player will be assigned their unique code, and you will receive this via email from Sports Evaluations.  When parent’s login they will see next skate times and a map to the facility.  There will be an option to receive player insights for an extra charge.  The data that will be viewed is individual data only, not sum data.

The first skate will be created based on alphabetical order to separate into the skills skates.  From there, the scores will be utilized to generate the appropriate skates.  Sports Evaluations have added a lot of information to their website such as evaluation criteria, evaluation scale, evaluation tips, drills, forms, FAQ's and some great information for the parents.  The evaluators will be using their phones or iPads for electronic data capture.  Please do not panic if evaluators are on their devices, they will be using sliders/toggles (no typing) to evaluate each player.

Parents/guardians are not permitted to speak to any evaluator, please bring your concerns up to the division director immediately and it will be sorted out.

U11 2026 Prep Skate Information

We are excited to announce our upcoming U11 Prep Skates.  This is a great opportunity for our young athletes to hone their skills and prepare for the upcoming evaluation sessions.  Please join us on the dates and locations listed below under the Prep Skate Schedule header.  The rosters for the skates will be sent via the TeamLink App and that will be the place to stay up to date if a time or place changes.  Please note that prep skates are not mandatory and each athlete needs to be dressed in their full hockey equipment.

We are also excited to announce that we will be hosting an all-Female Group of prep skates.  We are asking that all female athletes participate in the skates regardless of their desire to play coed or female hockey.  The all-female skate has allowed the association to attract additional athletes from outside of our boundary to allow SGMHA to roster highly competitive female teams.  We hope to see your support and grow the game for our young female athletes.  To remain up to date with SGMHA's female program please use the Female Program Information tab.

Prep Skate On-Ice Volunteers

To run the prep skates, we will require a minimum of 4 on ice volunteers (skates, helmets, gloves and stick needed) to assist the young athletes.  A sign-up sheet can be found below for folks to sign up on the days and times that they are available.  Please note that if we do not receive the required number of volunteers, the prep skate may be cancelled.

U11 tiered division information

The U11 Division is comprised of players that are 9 & 10 years old as of Dec 31, 2026.

The U11 Division generally has one practice and one game per week, but more ice can be picked up by the coach and manager of each of your teams.

The U11 Division will host prep skates prior to evaluations.  Prep skates can start as early as the last weekend in August.  Starting dates will be posted on the Important Dates Tab.

The U11 Division evaluations will start once the PAC U11AA team tryouts are near completion. Those participants selected by the PAC U11AA team will then be committed to that team and will be excluded from the tiered house evaluations.  Those participants released from PAC U11AA will be required to complete tiered house league evaluations.  Once evaluations are completed, participants will be placed on a teams based on their evaluation rankings.  Best efforts will be made to ensure teams are at a maximum of 18 players.

U11 Tiered teams participate in the EFHL league for game play during the season which typically runs the first weekend in October to the second weekend in March.

Full hockey player equipment is required for all sessions.  Please refer to the Parent Portal link for more information on equipment requirements.
