We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Al Anderson’s Source For Sports and Bauer Hockey to launch the 1st Annual U13 Development Camp, scheduled for September 5th-7th, 2025, at Merlis Belsher Place. This is a unique opportunity for all players (male & female) in the U13 age division to develop their skills and gain confidence, ensuring they're well-prepared as they progress into the U15 leagues.
- Exclusive Training: Every participant will receive three 60-minute ice sessions, one 30-minute Mental Prep Session, and off-ice practice/game preparation training.
- Expert Guidance: Ice sessions are led by SMHA Development Manager Andrew Bailey, Hockey Canada Skills Development Facilitator Shane Carter, and certified Skills Development Instructors, along with former W.H.L. & U Sports players. You'll also gain insights from a presentation by Optima Athletic Consulting and off-ice guidance from HPC training staff.
- Skill Development: Focus on mastering body contact skills, essential for both defensive and offensive play. Our sessions include Hockey Canada Checking Skills, Game Application, and Small Area Game/Competition. You’ll learn how to:
- Protect the puck better and create opportunities to generate offence in prime areas to score.
- Disrupt opponents’ play with body/stick positioning with the ability to quickly transition to offence.
- Utilize balance/agility to gain body position and creating more space on the ice.
- Protect yourself and others effectively, allowing you to play with confidence and more enjoyment.
