September 19 Update:
Thank you for your patience while we wrap up some 2nd team tryouts. As you can imagine, some team coaches are not established until 1st teams are made.
We appreciate those parent coaches who are stepping up to help us support deserving 2nd team athletes and teams- it is much appreciated!!!

Tryouts for some teams continue this week.
Once competitive team rosters are selected, athletes will be added to their respective teams on TeamLinkt and families can pay the Club Tegistrstion fee directly through TeamLinkt.
Please do not pay Thunder Competitive club fees via e-transfer to the club email address this year.

September 5 2025 Update:
1) Tryouts begin next week! Please check out tryout dates and locations below (be sure to check regularly for updates/changes)- see you at tryouts next week!
FYI- We look to have 2nd teams for multiple age groups, where numbers of athletes support the opportunity! While booking KPR and PVNCC faciltiies has become very challenging, thankfully we were able to secure enough gym locations this year.
2) A Thunder Parent Open House Meeting will be held online on September 7 at 3pm, using the following link:

The Thunder Parent Open House Meeting will overview feedback from our parent survey and disucss next steps for the club this season and future enhancements- see you there!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Athletes interested in trying out for a Peterborough Thunder Competitive Club Team, must pre-register to attend tryouts (no cost).

Thunder Competitive Club Team Information:
The cost for the 2025/26 OVA Thunder Volleyball season for competitive club teams is $950 (due after tryouts- can be made in two installments). This includes/covers OVA athlete registration fees, OVA tournament registration costs, uniforms, facility bookings and team equipment. It does not include any additional/ exhibition tournaments the team may be interested in playing, or individual athlete travel or accommodation costs. More information about season costs will be shared by your coach, before teams are established.
Thunder Tryout Policy:
- Thunder athletes should tryout for a team aligned with their birth year.
- Athletes may tryout for a team older than their birth year if they are deemed exceptional and would contribute to the older age group team with meaningful playing time.
- If an athlete is cut from a team aligned with their birth year, they may:
- Continue to tryout for a second team; and/or
- Tryout for an age group younger (if they are age eligible- late birthday), only after being cut/released by the coach/team aligned with their birth year.
August 27 Update: Thunder Kick Off Volleyball Clinics (pre-season opportunity to learn some new skills from Trent andThunder Coaches and Athletes, prepare for tryouts and have fun!) will be held on the following dates at the Trent University Athletic Complex:

Register Here to attend the Pre-Season Kick Off Clinics, hosted by Trent University's Varsity Volleyball Athletes and Thunder Coaches!
Kick-Off Clinic Cost: 10$ (12U-15U) and 15$ (16U-18U), paid directly to Trent representatives at each clinic session attended (cash or debit).
Registration is Required to attend (brief online form- Click on registration link and select "2025 Clinic and Tryout Form" from the drop down menu.
A compete tryout schedule will be posted on August 29. Athletes interested in trying out for a compelteive club team are encouraged to attend the kick-off clinics.
Thank you for your patience with competitive club season tryout date information. We can post confirmed tryout dates this week, as Public KPR School Board facility bookings were secured/finalized on Aug 26.

June 17, 2025 Update: The club is excited to offer Open Gym Times during the week of June 23, for all athletes interested in playing for the Peterborough Thunder Volleyball Club next season! Cost is only $5.
Please see the below OPEN GYM dates in June 2025, for several Thunder Girls and Boys teams and visit our Summer ID Clinic page for more information and to register!
Coach contacts (for most teams) are listed below for 2025/26. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding the upcoming season.
The club will also run 2nd (and maybe 3rd teams!) if/where numbers support and facilities are available. Last season the club ran 19 Girls and Boys teams.
