FALL 2025 HOUSE LEAGUE REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!
Peterborough Thunder Volleyball Club offers a house league program each year. Please check our website and Facebook Page this summer for key dates and house league season updates.
We are looking for volunteer coaches for our fall house league season. New this year: Parents who identify interest on the registration form and are willing to volunteer will have thir child prioritized for registration!
Our house League program
While most clubs focus only on competitive volleyball, the ultimate goal of the Peterborough Thunder Volleyball Club is to instill a love of the sport in as many of our youth as possible, and through that, build and maintain a competitive and successful club.
To this end, a Thunder League program was started in 2006 and is a key component of our ‘grass roots’ program. Girls and Boys between the ages of 11-15 are taught the skills of volleyball and exposed to game situations.

Per update below, we have a wait list each year, so register early- and volunteer to help coach to prioritize your registration!
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to U12 (born in 2014), U13 (born in 2013), U14 (born in 2012), U15 (born in 2011/10) age groups - all are welcome!
- No experience necessary! :)
PRACTICE AND GAMES
- One practice (1 + hours on Wed/Thurs/Fri) location TBC; and
- Game Days on Saturday am (until noon/1pm) at TASS
COST
- Registration fee: $150 for the 12-week program
(Includes a team t-shirt, all practices and games- and alot of fun!)
- New this year: Registration payment will be made online through a Teamlinkt/Stripe online payment (no etransfer to peterborough THunder email this year). Registration will be deemed complete, once full payment is made.
- Refunds will be available the first week of House League (early/mid September)
WHAT TO BRING
- Indoor running/court shoes
- A refillable water bottle
- Knee pads are recommended, but not required
REGIStration
Please note that each season since 2010, we have been forced to cap registration due to gym availability and the number of volunteer coaches. To avoid disappointment, early registration is strongly recommended.
Volunteer coaches are needed and appreciated- please express your interest/willingness to support a team on your athletes registration form!

Aug 1 Update: Per our previous update, the club did not receive necessary gym space bookings from the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland County Catholic (PVNCC) School Board this year, so we have been waiting for the Kawartha Pine Ridge (KPR) School Board (and other facilities) to open their booking windows before opening up house league registration.
In July, the KPR board opended 2 (o f 5) gym booking dates, however, we are limited to only 1 facility booking on each date, so we won't have a complete set of confirmed gym spaces until later in August.
Good News-Bad News-Good News Sandwich...
Good News!: We have been able to secure Saturday gym time for our House League Game Days with our first KPR bookings (will be held at TASS).
Not So Great News: We havent been able to secure enough Tuesday to Thursday gym space at KPR or PVNCC to date, but we do have weekly Monday and Friday gym times avaiable to us so far.
More Good News!: As we have our Saturday space confirmed, we we will be opening House League registration this week! Note: House League practice dates will be confirmed later in August, when we complete our gym booking efforts, so families will need to be flexible and patient with confirmation of practice night dates, which could be on Wed, Thurs or Fri evenings.
Please register ASAP once the house league registration window opens, as space is limited. We have a wait list every year!
Important Note- The Thunder House League registration form will include a field that ID's parents who are willing to help coach. Athletes with parents willing to help coach a house league team will be prioritized/moved to the top of registration for the upcoming season.
ALSO- We will be sharing a Thunder Parent Survey and hosting an Open House for house league and competeitive club families this summer, to collect your feedback on what we are doing well/not so well and suggestions on how we can improve the Volleyball experience for kids in Peterborough. We look forward to your feedback!

June 4 Update: We did not receive the necesary gym space bookings from the Peterboorugh Catholic Board, so we are waiting for the public board to open school booking window (date tbd) before we can confirm our house league program details for fall 2025 and open registration.
We are receiveing a large volume of requests and may not be able to respond to email questions/messages at this time. Please check our website and social media for updates.
