Coach certification Requirements
Each year McKnight is looking for parents to take on the roles of Head Coach, Assistant and Goalie Coach. These are fundamentally the most important roles on the ice. If you are interested in joining us this coming season, you will be required to complete our online application form. Please be sure to have your coach qualifications up to date before the season starts. Not having all of your coach qualifications does not preclude you from a position, but it could adversely affect your application when in comparison to another available coach that has all qualifications completed.
All coaches in all divisions require coach certification. McKnight Hockey Association will reimburse coaches for fees associated with certification courses. McKnight Hockey minimum certification requirements meet or exceed Hockey Calgary minimum certification requirements.
If you have coached before, please ensure that you check your qualifications via your HCR 3.0 account prior to completing your online application.
Deadline to complete your Coach Application is Sept 10, – No Exceptions
Deadline to complete your certification is November 15, – No Exceptions

Note: McKnight has HIGHER requirements to coach than what is listed on Hockey Alberta's website. This is to ensure we have the most qualified and safest environment for our players.
This course is DIFFERENT from the Parent version. This course must be completed before stepping on the ice for the first time.
There is NO COST for this police check if you follow the steps outlined. McKnight will not reimburse for a police check if you did not follow the steps.
