This evening the Interlake Minor Hockey Association Board of Directors met virtually and made the difficult decision to suspend all league play until November 16th. We will meet again, prior to November 16th to re-evaluate the situation.
During this time, teams that fall under the Province’s Level Orange on the Provincial Response System will be allowed to continue with practices and may schedule exhibition games with other communities that fall under the same restrictions. These communities include Gimli, Riverton, Arborg, Lundar (Lakeside), Fairford, St. Laurent and Warren.
At this time, teams that fall under the Province’s Level Red restrictions (Stony Mountain, Stonewall and Teulon) will not be allowed to practice or participate in exhibition games. This may change as we receive direction from Hockey Manitoba.
On behalf of the Board of Director’s, let me say that we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. This was not a decision that we wanted to make, but at the end of the day we need to do what is best for our players, families and communities.
