On Saturday, the Berne Union Cross Country teams competed at the Bob Reall Invitational hosted at Lancaster High School. This meet is the largest of the season, drawing hundreds of athletes from all divisions, and the Rockets rose to the challenge with outstanding performances.
Flood damage to the bridges forced changes to the course this year, creating a more difficult route filled with hills. Despite the tough conditions, our Rocket Runners showed grit and determination throughout the day.
Leading the way for the high school squad was Josh Nye, who earned a 14th-place medal out of 245 runners. Nye, along with teammate Stephen Fisher, also recorded course personal records (PRs), a testament to their hard work and perseverance.
The middle school boys also impressed in a field of more than 200 runners, with every athlete setting a PR on the challenging course.
Congratulations to all of our runners for their effort and success at this prestigious meet. The Rockets continue to prove that no course is too difficult when you compete with heart and determination.
