The Berne Union varsity football team traveled to Trimble on Thursday, August 29, where they were defeated 36-0 in a hard-fought contest.

The first quarter was a defensive battle, but Trimble finally broke through with a 21-yard rushing touchdown to take the lead. The second quarter played out in similar fashion, with the Tomcats adding another rushing score to head into halftime up 16-0.

In the second half, Trimble’s ground game continued to find success. The Tomcats tacked on three more rushing touchdowns—runs of 20, 93, and 24 yards—securing the 36-0 victory.

Offensively, quarterback Carson Kiger finished the night 5-for-13 passing for 60 yards with one interception. Mayson Walton led the Rockets on the ground, picking up 34 yards on five carries. In the air, Ashton O’Rourke and James Hocking each hauled in two receptions to lead the receiving corps.

Berne Union will look to bounce back as they return home on Friday, September 5, to host Division IV opponent Hebron Lakewood. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
