East Coast Games

News Image

Hello everyone,

Here is everything you need to know for the upcoming East Coast Games.

Fundy Minor Football Association Is the host of this event—under the East Coast Games banner. Please ask your parents to come to you as the primary source of your team's information and then FMFA if needed. ECG is getting a ton of questions that they are unable to answer. The Fundy Minor Football Facebook page is where info will be posted.

Location: Canada Games Stadium (UNBSJ Campus), 190 Campus Ring Road, Saint John, N.B., Canada E2L 4L5

CGS Facility—Rules:

  • UNB is a smoke/vape-free campus. Tobacco products are not permitted in the facility or on the turf.

  • Food, gum, and beverages are not permitted on the turf, except for water and sports drinks. This includes NO Tim Hortons cups on the field.

  • Garbage receptacles are available; please ensure these are utilized.

  • There are no dogs allowed in our facility; this includes in the stands, on the turf/track, or inside the main gate entrance. The only exception is a service dog.

We ask that spectators use the stands for viewing—no spectators will be permitted on the sidelines during games.

Weather:

Saturday: Sunny and warm, highs near 24 °C - Sunday: Mix of sun and clouds with a chance of isolated thunderstorms, highs around 22 °C Don’t forget sunscreen and a refillable water bottle—we will have water stations for participants set up on the field. Always be prepared for FOG!! It is Saint John after all.

Parking: UNBSJ campus is under construction (it feels like it's been forever). Please make your teams aware of the parking guidelines attached and follow signage around the campus. The set up allows for a drop-off only on the circle. Coaches should allow time to plan for a bit of a walk to the field if they are parking.

Concessions: Please see the attached flyer from Chartwells with the information for concessions during the tournament. Please share with your players and parents.

Check In: Please have a coach check in at the Field Tent 30 minutes prior to each game you play. Each scheduled game will have a player of the game for each team. The POG certificate can be picked up at check-in prior to your game. Coaches will choose and award POG to their own teams.

All teams should be ready at their field 10 minutes prior to each game for officials checks and any last-minute instructions. Players will line up prior to the start of each game for officials to check mouthguards, shorts, flags, and cleats.

We do expect great sportsmanship and a fun competitive weekend.

Thanks again for Joining us!

Cheers!

Melissa
