High Bridge Youth Basketball

Our MIssion

The mission of the High Bridge Youth Basketball is to provide an opportunity for the youth of High Bridge, Clinton Township and nearby communities to learn and enjoy the game of basketball in a safe, well supervised and positive environment.  We seek to provide a co-ed recreational league for boys and girls to learn the rules and fundamentals of the game of basketball.  We offer structured, age and skill  level appropriate venues for practices and games and clinics.

High Bridge Youth Basketball encourages coaches to let their players have fun: to play all team members an equal amount of time; to coach each player in a way that gives that player an equal opportunity to strive for success; to set a positive example in behavior.  For coaches their success is greater than the number of games their team has won.

We expect the coaches of this league to be positive role models for the kids in both practice and in games and to exemplify and teach good sportsmanship. The High Bridge Youth Basketball has zero tolerance for any inappropriate behavior from coaches, parents, players, and referees, including; vulgar language, verbal or physical abuse, and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Volunteer Run

Our league thrives entirely on the dedication of our incredible volunteers, and we cannot emphasize enough how much we need and appreciate your help! Without your generosity and commitment, High Bridge Youth Basketball simply wouldn't be possible.

We offer various opportunities for you to contribute and make a real difference in the lives of our young athletes:

  • Coaching: If you have a passion for basketball and enjoy working with children, please consider serving as a head or assistant coach. Your guidance and encouragement are invaluable in shaping our players' skills and sportsmanship.
  • Refereeing: We are always in need of enthusiastic high school students to referee our younger division. This is a fantastic way to stay involved in the game and it's also an excellent opportunity to earn community service hours!
  • Scorers Table Assistance: If you prefer to contribute off the court, we welcome your help at the scorers' table during games. This role is crucial for keeping accurate records and ensuring smooth game operations.

Important Requirements for Coaching Volunteers:

  • Background Checks: For the safety and well-being of all our participants, all coaches are required to complete comprehensive background checks.
  • Concussion Awareness Training: To ensure the highest standards of player safety, all volunteers are required to complete a concussion awareness training course. This vital training equips you with the knowledge to recognize, respond to and prevent concussions.

If you are interested in any of these roles or have other skills you believe could benefit our league, please indicate your interest on your registration form. We are excited to welcome you to our team of dedicated volunteers.
