GYFL is a proud member of the East Wake Football League, a competitive travel football league.  Since 1968, the EWFL has given young athletes across central NC the opportunity to learn youth football at a community level. The EWFL carries a unique experience in youth football; to play in a “big game” atmosphere. Our games begin in the afternoons on Saturday and play into the evening “under the lights” at many of the High Schools and Community Organizations in the area. 

​The EWFL & GYFC require ALL players to have an ID; DMV issued, US Passport; Military ID; Tribal ID.

AGE & WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Rookie Flag Team (Ages 4 - 6) - Non-Contact
8U Mini Mites (Ages 6-8) - Weight Limit 105 lbs max / 130 lbs max between the tackles
10U Mighty Mites (Ages 9-10) - Weight Limit 125 lbs max / 170 lbs max between the tackles 
12U  6th Grade Team (Ages 11-12) - Weight Limit 155 lbs max / unlimited weight between the tackles
14U Middle School (Ages 13-14) - Unlimited Weight

 * Age is determined as of August 1st, CURRENT year.

Camps/training begin in February
Tackle Practices begin the last week of July
Tackle Games begin the last week of August
Play-offs begin the first week of November.

During the regular season (Aug-Oct) our practices are M, T, TH 6-8 PM.
