Zero Tolerance for Referee Abuse

1.     Verbal or Physical abuse of youth referees as well as verbal or physical abuse of youth players is unacceptable by any coach, parent, or player.
2.     It is never acceptable to verbally or physically abuse referees in any situation.
3.     Any criticism or critique of a youth referee's performance should only be communicated to the youth by the Referee-in-Chief.
4.     If a coach or spectator wants to share concerns about the quality of officiating. The Referee-in-Chief would welcome to hear any constructive comments on referees.
5.     Only Positive, Instructive, and Encouraging comments are allowed to be directed at youth players or youth referees.
6.     This policy is not intended to imply that referees are always right and the adult spectator or coach is always wrong. However, we must remember that just as youth players will make mistakes during play, youth referees will make mistakes in officiating, particularly in the younger divisions where they are learning how to referee.
7.     If a coach, parent, or player is found in violation of the Zero Tolerance Policy they may be asked to leave the rink this is at the discretion of the Dalmeny Minor Hockey Board , Referee-in-Chief, or Dalmeny Rink Staff.
8.     If there are any questions please review 1 and 2 at top of the page.
