11U Division Rules:
1. Fair Play Rule in Effect:
- No player may sit for 2 consecutive innings. No player can sit again before all others on the team
have sat.
- All players must play the infield for a minimum of 2 innings and the outfield for a minimum of 1
inning per game.
- No player may play more than 2 innings in one position except for the catcher who may play a
maximum of 3 innings per game.
- Every player must be given equal opportunity to play both the infield and outfield, as to develop
their skills and abilities. With the exception of the pitching and catching positions, which will be
to the discretion of the coach.
- The coach must rotate the batting line up to ensure all players are given equal opportunity
throughout the season.
2. Time limit of 75 mins for Games – Typically this allows for 4 innings. 3 outs or 3 runs in will
constitute an inning. No inning will start within 15 minutes of the end of the game time.
During playoff games, a modified ‘open’ innings will be implemented.
- The last inning will be considered an ‘open’ inning, in which the away team may score a max
of 6 runs if they are up in the top of last inning. The home team may catch up and win by one
in the bottom of the last inning.
3. Stealing:
- Players are allowed to steal bases, including home.
- Players are NOT allowed to lead off.
- A player cannot steal until the ball has crossed the plate. One warning will be given and then
player will be called out if they leave the base before the ball has crossed the plate.
4. On a dropped third strike, the batter is out and may not become a base runner.
5. Bunting is NOT permitted.
6. Base runners must stop running once the pitcher has possession of the ball on the mound.
7. Slide to Avoid - If a play is being made, or is about to be made, it is MANDATORY for players to slide
or make an effort to avoid a collision at all bases and home plate. Failure to do either will result in an
automatic 'out'. The ball is dead, and no runner may advance beyond the base that was last legally
acquired. An umpire will have the option of ejection if the incident warrants such a measure.
8. Pitching:
- Players must only pitch one inning, as to allow development of other players.
- Pitching distance is 46ft from the rubber on the mount to home plate.
