Volunteer Coach: 

Avalon Minor Football is always looking for coaches. Being a volunteer coach is one of the most rewarding volunteer activities one can undertake. Once you decide that you want to be a coach, the following steps lay down the requirements for coaching within AMF. These requirements are in accordance with Football Canada policies. If you just want to help out the coach and not actively coach yourself, only the first step is required. If you have any questions at all regarding Coaching or Volunteering, please email here.

  1. Vulnerable sector check. Please email here.
  2. Get a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) number here.
  3. Complete the "Making Headway in football" module here.
  4. Complete "Making Ethical Decisions" workshop and online evaluation. check the calendar in "The Locker" for dates and times.
  5. Complete the "Safe Contact" workshop. check the calendar in "The Locker" for dates and times.
  6. Complete community coach online module here. There is a $20 fee for this course. However, AMF will reimburse this fee once workshop is completed successfully, in the next step.
  7. Complete community coach workshop. check the calendar in "The Locker" for dates and times.

Officials: 

Are you passionate about Football and interested in being an Official? Avalon Minor Football (AMF) are loking for dedicated individuals to join the team  of Officials through Football Newfoundland (FNL) and help ensure fair play and sportsmanship on the field. If you have a strong knowledge of the game, good judgment, and excellent communication skills, FNL wants to hear from you. Being an official is a rewarding experience that allows you to be a part of the action and contribute to the success of the game.  To learn more about becoming an official, please visit Football Canada's Online Portal and reach out to Football Newfoundland.
