Below is an outline of what you will find on this page:
We are in urgent need of the following key volunteer roles to be filled. This league will not be able to move forward without roles. If these roles are not filled by June 12, 2026, we will be unable to accommodate any friend requests for 2026.2027 season.
To ensure a successful season, we urgently need volunteers to step up:

To ensure the smooth operation of our league, it is essential that parents step up to volunteer in key roles such as coaches, evaluation support and team managers. Without sufficient volunteers, we will not be able to continue running the league effectively.
We have worked closely with Hockey Calgary to secure ice at George Blundun/Optimist arenas (Optimist Park) for WCHL practices and games. This location is central to WCHL member boundaries and helps reduce travel time for families during the season.
Ice Shortfalls:
This program is mandated by Hockey Canada. All players must have an active Shift Forward - Parent Certificate before they can access the registration system.
Important Update - As of April 15th, Hockey Canada has replaced the Respect in Sport - Parent program with their internal program, Shift Forward. For detailed information on this transition, please visit the Hockey Alberta website.
NOTE: The Shift Forward - Coach certificate is not equivalent and cannot be used to fulfill the Parent requirement.
