Program Details
- Ages Offered: U9 & U11 only (U13-U18 not available) *
- Governed by Hockey Calgary’s Community House League Operations Guide and WCHL policies
- Games and practices follow fixed schedules where possible (see "Program Information & Important Dates" for details)
* Players may alternatively register with their Home Association Community League or Recreational Hockey Calgary when looking for U13-U18
Philosophy
The House League is designed for recreational players who want a fun, affordable, and safe hockey experience with moderate time commitments. It is ideal for those who want to balance hockey with other social, academic, or recreational activities.
- Focus on fun No statistics or standings
- Skill development with certified volunteer parent coaches
- Certified officials for games
- Reduced travel and set schedules for practices & games
- Friend Request when team placement allows
- The season runs from October–February, with pre-skates & evaluations in late September
- One practice & one game per week
- No tournaments, extra ice purchases, cash calls, or fundraising
- Limited spots available – registration is first-come, first-served
- Season Finale tournament – WCHL teams host & participate in a season finale tournament hosted over the Family Day long weekend with Monday not being scheduled
Note: Every registered player must have a valid Respect in Sport – Parent certification.
