Code of Conduct

A solid foundation is essential for any youth sports program to succeed. As such, the implementation of a comprehensive code of conduct document plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and respectful environment for young athletes. This article aims to introduce the significance of a code of conduct in youth sports, highlighting its key objectives and benefits.

A code of conduct document is a fundamental aspect of any successful youth sports program. By establishing clear guidelines and expectations, it creates an environment that encourages sportsmanship, respect, and inclusivity. Moreover, it serves as a preventive measure against conflicts and offers a framework for conflict resolution.

Ultimately, the code of conduct document helps shape well-rounded athletes, preparing them not only for success on the field but also in life.

TYSA CODE OF CONDUCT

Code of Conduct

The following is the code of conduct that Players / Parents / Guardians shall adhere to:

Players

Thank you for being a player within Terrace Youth Soccer Association (TYSA). We ask that all our players commit to the player agreement and code of conduct.

  1. I deserve and will encourage “good sporting conduct” from fellow players, coaches, officials, and parents at all times.
  2. I will remember that soccer is an opportunity to learn and have fun.
  3. I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol; and expect everyone to refrain from their use at all soccer games.
  4. I will do the best I can each day, remembering that all players have talents and weaknesses the same as I do.
  5. I will treat my coaches, other players and coaches, officials, other administrators, and spectators with respect always, and I expect to be treated accordingly.
  6. I will concentrate on playing soccer and giving my best effort.
  7. I will always play by the rules and within the spirit of the game.
  8. I will always control my temper and I will not retaliate.
  9. I will always exercise self-control.
  10. I will make every effort to attend and be on time for all practices and games. If I must be away, I will let my coaches know well in advance.
