2025 Registration Schedule

Regular registration for all flag and tackle grades ends on April 30.  We will charge a $50 late registation fee starting on May 1, with all registrations closing May 31.

Program Descriptions

For both tackle and flag football, we are a member of the "EMASS" American Youth Football conference, the most competitive youth football conference in Massachusetts.  The other members of EMASS are Attleboro, Bellingham, Brockton, Canton, Dedham, Easton, Foxboro, Franklin, Holliston, Hopkinton, King Philip, Mansfield, Medway, Milford, North Attleboro, Norton, Norwood, Taunton, Waltham, and Wayland, and our tackle and travel flag teams (second and third grades) will visit some of these towns for road games every season.

Warrior Travel Football - Tackle (4th through 8th grades) - $400 registration fee

Time Commitment

Tackle football requires a very significant time and effort commitment and this is what our coaches will expect.  While some of our athletes have limited commitments to other sports that overlap with the football season, the expectation is that football is the highest priority fall sport for kids and families participating in tackle football and will be treated as such throughout the season.  We expect players to regularly attend practices and games other than for excused absences with advance notice.  It is your responsibility as parents or guardians to communicate with the coaching staff in advance concerning anticipated absences.  Unexcused or excessive excused absences will typically result in a loss of playing time.

Preseason

For 2025, we expect practices to start on Monday, August 4th.  During this period, practices will be held Monday through Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm until school starts.  Regular attendance at preseason practices is of particular importance.  For each player, EMASS requires 10 hours of non-contact conditioning before putting on pads, so the expectation is that your athlete will attend preseason practices beginning on August 4th so we can be ready for scrimmages and the start of the regular season.

Regular Season

Tackle teams practice two weeknights per week (either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday), plus a Saturday morning walk-through (unless the team is playing a game on Saturday in a given week).  It is possible that an occasional practice day or time may shift based on severe weather or field availability issues outside of our control.  All of these sessions, and home games, will be held at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School (LSRHS).

Our tackle teams play an eight-game regular season that typically begins on Labor Day Weekend and ends in late October, with the final date being determined based on whether there is an additional (bye) week built into the season.  Home games are almost always held on Sundays; away games may be on Saturday or Sunday (or on Monday, for Labor Day Weekend), with the home team selecting the game day and start time in all instances.  This means that the schedule for away games is entirely outside of our control.  The regular season game schedule is typically not finalized until mid-August.

Postseason

Playoffs begin immediately after the regular season and conclude with super bowl games hosted at a neutral site in mid-November.

Uniforms

We will place a jersey order after the regular registration period closes and players will pay for those jerseys at cost, which is likely to be around $65.  Football pants and practice jerseys will be available for purchase from Graphic Connections this spring and have cost around $70 for the pair in past years.  Returning players are welcome to wear last year's game and practice uniforms if they still fit.

Warrior Travel Football - Flag (2nd and 3rd grades) - $350 registration fee

Time Commitment

Travel flag football requires a significant time commitment.  Many of our flag athletes manage multiple fall sports and coaches understand and will accommodate these as excused absences, but it is your responsibility as parents or guardians to communicate with the coaching staff in advance concerning anticipated absences so they can appropriately plan for practices and games.

Preseason

For 2025, we expect practices to start during the week of August 18th, with each team practicing two weeknights per week.

Regular Season

Flag teams practice two weeknights (early evening) per week.  It is possible that an occasional practice day or time may shift based on severe weather or field availability issues outside of our control.  Practice sessions will be held at Haskell Field and home games will be at LSRHS.

Our travel flag football teams play an eight-game regular season that typically begins on Labor Day Weekend and ends in late October, with the final date being determined based on whether there is an additional (bye) week built into the season.

Postseason

Postseason play is not assured and varies by grade and from year to year and likely will only be determined for 2025 once the regular season is underway.  Any postseason games would be complete by mid-November.

Uniforms

Uniforms consist of a jersey and shorts and are sold at cost ($50 each).  Returning players are welcome to wear last year's uniform jersey and/or shorts.

Warrior In-Town Football - Flag (Kindergarten and 1st grade) - $280 registration fee

Our in-town program consists of eight sessions on Saturday mornings starting in early September at Haskell Field.  First graders will also have one weeknight (early evening) practice session at Haskell with the day and time TBD.

Uniform jerseys and shorts each cost $50, except that the program purchases one jersey for each kindergartener at no cost to those families.  Uniform shorts are purely optional for these grades.  Returning players are welcome to wear last year's uniform jersey and/or shorts.

For all grade levels, registration fee refunds will be addressed on a case by case basis.  Uniform purchases are not refundable.  Refund requests must be sent to syfcprez@gmail.com.
