Hockey is a great way to build friendships, learn discipline, exercise and most importantly have FUN!
Most age divisions will hit the ice 2 or 3 times per week, which includes practices and games. SAMH registration fees include practice ice, game ice, ref fees, insurance costs, the use of game jerseys. Typically most teams end up attending 2 tournaments on a yearly basis. Tournaments are an additional cost and is usually organized by the team.
We have mandatory fundraising set at $200.00 per family. More details on our fundraising goals and options will be provided.
One parent per family must complete the Respect In Sport Program!
Volunteering to help your team also makes the year go smoothly. You may be asked to run the time clock, update the scoresheet, run the 50/50 or bring the after game snacks. Please do your part to help!
Our U7 Program uses a cross-ice layout for all practices and game situations. Our U9 Program uses a half-ice format, and in U11 they move on to the full-ice format. The video at the following link shows just how overwhelming a big rink could be for our younger players. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXhxNq59pWg
SAMH want your kids safe out on the ice! Here is the equipment needed to get started, also, don't forget a water bottle, clearly labelled with your child's name.
