The Aaron Johnson Memorial Cup is a trampoline gymnastics meet held by Shasta Trampoline Club each year. The first AJM Cup took place in 2014, and has become a standing and proud tradition in which all club members come together to host a safe and successful provincial cup. Santcioned by Gymnstics BC, our Provincial Cup brings athletes together from all over BC, and even Saskatchewan, to compete in the TG events of Trampoline, DMT, and Tumbling.
The late Aaron Johnson was more than an athlete and coach, he was a pioneer and mentor for the trampoline community. Our annual meet is a tributre to Aaron who gave so much to this sport. Cofounding the Vancouver Circus School and coaching at the national level for over two decades, Aaron was also a technical committee member of the International Trampoline Federation. Beyond coaching, he co-authored the Level 1-3 NCCP coaching and course conductor manuals, and conducted numerous coaching courses across Canada. He was honoured with life memberships to Gymnastics BC and The Canadian Gymnastics Federation, as well as an honorary life membership to the International Trampoline Federation. His passion was to share his joy of trampoline and to develop athletes in the sport. A great coach is never ever forgotten!
This short VIDEO captures a little of what Aaron meant to all of us.
