We’re excited to announce that Coach Rick Miles is back for his third season as head of the U16 program!
Miles has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge, as an educator, as coach and as a former football player. Miles is a retired teacher with the Upper Canada District School Board, where he coached the Thousand Island Pirates (TISS) football for 23 years at the junior and senior level in Brockville. In 2016, he received the Brockville Sports Person of the Year Coaching Award for a lifetime commitment to coaching and his work with the TISS football program. For Rick, this will be his 11th year with the Grenadiers. His resume with the Gren’s includes coaching all defensive and offensive positions as well as serving as DC and OC, Defensive Linemen Coach and Head Coach throughout the years. “We will do everything each day as a TEAM to build on last year’s successes.” Miles said in a statement. “I’m remarkably fortunate to have been afforded the privilege of coaching at places where life’s journey has created strong personal connections for me that fill me with pride. I think there is a responsibility to give back and grow the sport and I’m looking forward to working with our younger coaches to help them take over the reins."
