Introducing the U16AA Generals Rebrand

Hockey Regina is extremely excited to announce that our U16AA Coed Team has officially been rebranded as the Regina Generals, after two seasons competing under the Tigers moniker.

The Generals namesake joins the Hockey Regina Regiment of historical ties, joining the Aces, Capitals, Monarchs, Pat Blues, Rangers and Vics as the Generals were a Canadian Junior “A” Hockey Team who played in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in the 1940-1941 season, debuting in the same year as the Regina Rangers.

For historical reference, the Regina Vics were established in 1913, the Capitals in 1921, the Monarchs in 1927, the Aces in 1937, the Rangers and Generals in 1940 and the Pat Blues in 1970.

A General in the Canadian Armed Forces represents the highest ranking officer in all three arms of military (Army, Air Force and Navy) and further supports Hockey Regina’s vision of building community through hockey.

The Generals uniforms were designed with an element of military relevance, including the distinguishment of four-stars representing the achievements on a uniform of a General, the “four-star rank” of military.

Hockey Regina owes an immense gratitude to U16AA Generals Head Coach Chad Molesky, who worked tirelessly to support this rebrand and completed much of the historical research.

Best of luck to Coach Molesky and his Generals in their inaugural deployment in the SAAHL for 2025-2026!
